Paola spent her formative years in Haiti, and like the majority of underprivileged kids growing up in Port-au-Prince (the capital), she was not afforded many opportunities.  However, she was able to find refuge in the game of basketball, which was introduced to her by a school teacher. This game became not only a way to exercise and cope with her daily routine, but also a gateway to a better life.  Leveraging the resources and support that basketball provided, Paola crafted a path to the life she envisioned and ultimately played collegiate basketball at St. Francis College (Division1). She holds a M.S. degree in Physical Education-Sport Management from Brooklyn College, and a B.S. degree in Management with a concentration in International Business from St. Francis College.
